Silver Tail Systems has been acquired by EMC, between $300 million and $400 million, [1] to accelerate RSA's strategy to leverage data analytics and adaptive risk-based controls. [2]

"Silver Tail Systems, Inc. provides predictive analytics for detection and prevention of fraud and abuse to Websites worldwide. It offers on-premise and software-as-a-service based detection and mitigation solutions to protect e-commerce, financial, government, and Web 2.0 Websites, as well as other sites that give access to finances or personal information.

"The Silver Tail Systems platform collects and analyzes massive amounts of real-time data from web traffic to provide web session intelligence. Web session intelligence delivers complete visibility into all web and mobile application traffic, which powers the behavioral analysis engine. The behavioral analysis engine creates heuristics and rules to detect anomalies, IT security threats, fraud, insider threats, business logic abuse and other malicious activity."

Real-Time Detection and Visibility - "Forensics monitors all clicks and HTTP data in every web session, providing complete web session intelligence context in real-time. Forensics instantly identifies criminal behavior and alerts your cyber crime and fraud analysts, who can quickly change website flows to thwart bad actors in real-time, saving valuable engineering resources and avoiding impact to legitimate users."

"Mitigator uses targeted rules to instantly detect, alert, and communicate those events out to other network devices. This can allow for blocking of IPs and users that Silver Tail Systems identifies as malicious, including Denial-of-Service, site scraping, horizontal password guessing, or other attacks worthy of instant blocking with targeted rules. You can use our API to prompt suspected bot-like activity with CAPTCHA or strong authentication mid-session.

Mitigator is a plug-in orientated architecture that allows for integration and real-time action with your existing infrastructure including web servers, network devices such as firewalls and load balancers, case management systems, SIEM and more."
