Background

Solera Networks serves customers in government, financial, energy, cloud, retail, and high tech markets.

"Alan Hall, the firm's marketing director - who has had several years of experience with Novell - said that his firm's technology - which is used by a variety of government agencies - allows IT managers to go beyond deep level packet inspection by logging all aspects of network traffic on both physical and virtual systems.

The resultant data, he says, can then be analysed at leisure and allows IT managers to forensically analyse... Solera's deep packet capture, as it is known, is billed as streaming network data at much faster speeds than other companies." InfoSecurity

"Solera Networks, Inc. operates as a network forensics and security analytics platform provider. It offers network security analytics solutions, including HP ArcSight ESM, an enterprise threat and risk management platform for root cause analysis, outbreak/pathway analysis, application discovery, data leakage discovery, insider threat analysis, malware detection, peer-to-peer content download, inappropriate content discovery, and security assurance applications.

The company also provides DS network forensics products that create an indexed, classified, and searchable record of network traffic and allow analysis through instant reports, search, and reconstruction of network traffic;

  • DS Storage, a storage appliance that connects to the Solera DS H200 network forensics appliance to function as data storage units for additional capacity;
  • The Solera DS C200 that provides centralized management for organizations who deploy multiple Solera DS forensics appliances in distributed environment; and
  • Virtual Appliance, an appliance that turns various servers into a network forensics appliance.
