ABILITY surveillance devices are used for both Cellular Interception and Satellite Interception.
Cellular Interception devices i.e. 3G-Cat have been created specifically to be used with 3G devices. The 3G devices come from the "3" brand that is a venture partnership between INVESTOR AB (Sweden) and Huctchinson-Whampoa Ltd.(HWL) (Hong Kong) and also included Ericsson (Sweden) in their partnership to create imGO to expand their business in telecommunications and internet technologies.
Ericsson has contracted with Zain to provide 3G mobile in North Africa and the Middle East.
GSM Interceptors
IBIS II is restricted to the public and is only sold to Law Enforcement Agencies and Authorized Governmental Agencies as surveillance tool to intercept and track GSM communication of all types. Advertised as the most advanced system available that has the ability of integrating all relevant subsystems in a single unit that allows the user to "scan, analyze, intercept, monitor, record and track GSM mobiles, regardless if they are encrypted by A5.1 or A5.2 encryption (monitoring is not done by forcing the mobile to use A5.0 or A5.2 but rather by an integrated deciphering capability)." The IBIS–II is a stand-alone, not requiring notification or cooperation between the user and network provider.
