Whether for surveillance, identifying dissidents, activists or for other more acceptable reasons i.e. Climate/Weather -- it appears that some of the SAP products, when integrated with non-SAP products used for Deep Packet Inspection, Data Mining, Data Rentention and Data Analysis, contribute towards greater surveillance abilities in time and storage.

- October 2010: American Express Company and SAP AG announced a joint effort to develop an integrated solution enabling SAP customers in the United States to process electronic payments more seamlessly with American Express.
- October 2010: SAP AG and Siemens IT Solutions and Services, Inc. finalized a mutual working agreement that would set the stage for establishing an eCar proof of concept (POC).
