Aryaka’s application acceleration sits as a layer on top of the WAN Optimization service. In addition to WAN Optimization technology, the network contains application-specific optimizations for common Internet file system (CIFS), messaging application programming interface (MAPI), and file transfer protocol (FTP).     • Ajit Gupta, Founder, President and CEO of Aryaka

Ajit is responsible for building the Aryaka vision and guiding the company’s strategy. He has more than 25 years of experience in management, sales, support and professional services.

Prior to Aryaka, Ajit founded AAyuja Inc., a Strategic Technology Sales Acceleration company, serving as its CEO.

Ajit achieved notable success for the creation of a world-class Internet company, Speedera Networks, in 1999. Under his leadership, Speedera became one of the fastest growing private companies in Silicon Valley and in the North American technology industry in five short years, as ranked by both Deloitte & Touche and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2004, he successfully launched Speedera India in Bangalore to drive the company’s accelerated global expansion and follow-the-sun support strategy. Speedera was acquired in 2005 by Akamai Technologies (NASDAQ: AKAM) for a stock transaction worth more than $500 million.

Ajit has also held various positions at Oracle, Sybase and Resonate.

Ajit holds 12 patents for technology that brings together content delivery and global traffic management.

He is well-known among his industry peers, and has been a speaker at a number of key conferences around the world, including the Red Herring and TiEcon conferences, Kagan Digital Media Summits, Datacenter Ventures events, Streaming Media conferences, and other popular trade shows and exhibitions.

He is a founding board member of the IIT-Roorkee Heritage Fund.

Jim Smith General Partner, Mohr Davidow

Jim leads investments for Mohr Davidow in software and systems companies. He has authored and refereed numerous papers on computing systems and circuit design.

Jim is a Board member with Mantara, PacketMotion, ParAccel, RingCube, and Xambala.

Prior to Mohr Davidow, Jim developed computing architectures and integrated circuits for high performance multimedia systems at Silicon Graphics, Inc., including the multi-billion dollar revenue O2 and Octane workstation lines.

Jim received a doctorate in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in industrial management from Stanford University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in computer systems engineering and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford.


Naren Gupta Nexus Venture Partners

Naren is a co-founder of Nexus Venture Partners. Naren has over 20 years of early and early-growth stage investment experience in the US and India. Several of his earlier investments have had successful public exits.

He previously co-founded Integrated Systems Inc (ISI), a leading embedded software company, where he served as the President/CEO for fifteen years.

He took ISI public and subsequently merged it with Wind River Systems. Naren continued to serve on the board of Wind River till its recent acquisition by Intel.

He also serves on the boards of Red Hat Software and Tibco.

Naren holds a B. Ashwath Nagaraj Founder and VP of Engineering at Aryaka Networks

Ashwath has been founder of three successful San Francisco Bay Area companies. He holds 12 patents in storage, security, architecture and networking.

Previously, he was founder, CTO and Vice President of Engineering at Allegro Systems, a networking security startup. Allegro Systems was acquired by Cisco Systems in Sept 2001 for $185M.

At Cisco, Ashwath held senior management positions in the Security Technology Group, and the Internet Switching Business Unit.

Prior to Allegro, Ashwath was founder of Assured Access Technologies, which developed WAN access and aggregation products. Assured Access was acquired by Alcatel in 1999 for $350M.

Before Assured Access, Ashwath was one of the principal architects and Director (Engineering) at Mylex, a leading RAID/storage company in the SF Bay Area.

He has also held management positions at Schlumberger, Tata Elxsi and PSI Data Systems.

Ashwath received his undergraduate degree in electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
