Background
Axon acquired by HCL Technologies in 2009
"We [HCL] started looking for companies with high capabilities and started talking to three of them—one in the US and two in Europe. The high-performance culture of Axon, the fact that they were a standalone company with large capabilities, and the management culture, which was akin to ours, convinced us that it would be a great fit. "
HCL partners with Continuous Computing, apparently for their Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and other capabilities. Continuous Computing was acquired by RadiSys in 2011, same year that RadiSys Teams with Cavium on Ultra-High DPI
"As telecom equipment providers develop high-performance applications for LTE networks, they need state-of-the-art, industry standard building blocks that help them get to market faster," said Venkataraman Prasannan, General Manager, ATCA at Radisys.
"Utilizing the breakthrough DPI silicon technology from Cavium, the Radisys ATCA-7240 will provide the industry's highest performance, most cost effective packet processing and network search capabilities."
NOTE: Looks like some cross-branding maybe going on between RadiSys and Continuous Computing since the 2011 acquisition..
